William “Bill” August, 79, of Lincoln, formerly Dorchester, passed away Oct. 23, 2023.
He was born July 11, 1944, in Seward, to Warren and Marie (Bauer) August. Bill attended Dorchester Public School and graduated with the class of 1962. He went on to attend Southeast Community College in Milford, from which he received his associate degree. Bill served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from Sept. 5, 1967, to Jan. 15, 1969. He married Susan Marie Brolhorst on Feb. 15, 1969, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Crete and they made their home in Dorchester. Bill continued his career with SCC for more than 40 years and served as Program Chair; instructing Diesel Technology for Farm and Truck, John Deere Tech and Deere Construction and Forestry Equipment Technology.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Marie, parents in law, Ralph and Lorraine Brolhorst; and brother-in-law, Gary Brolhorst. He is survived by his wife, Susan; son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Michelle August; daughter and son-in-law, April (August) and Bob Schultz; grandchildren, Alex August, Maddy August and Maycie Schultz; sister, Jeannette Logan as well as nieces and nephews.
