She attended St. James Catholic School through eighth grade, and graduated high school in 1970. She attended nursing school, but went on to pursue other goals. She met Frank Spanjer, moved to California and they were married in June of 1978.

She worked most of her life in the mortgage industry in California as a loan processor. She found it challenging and she loved it. She later married Bob Cohen, and was by his side till he passed away from cancer.

Many years later, she met Gregg Sliwka and they were married April 9, 2006 in a ceremony in Hawaii. They moved to Colorado Springs for a time, until they decided to return to California to be closer to grandkids.

Trish loved attending cultural events such as plays and musicals. She also loved to travel and loved the out of doors, hiking and exploring new places. Some of the places she traveled to included Lake Tahoe, Big Bear, Mexico, Hawaii, Cancun and Puerta Vallarta, just to name a few.

She loved animals, and always had a dog for a pet. She was very involved in helping rescue animal groups, and even helped to transfer animals. She loved her family, she loved her pets and she loved her rocks and crystals.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Dorothy Hier; sister, Pamela Hier; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
