Mark Alan Douglas passed away April 24, 2023, surrounded by loved ones at Bryan East Medical Center in Lincoln at the age of 73.

Mark was born Oct. 14, 1949, to Donnette L. Douglas and Gene C. Douglas in Lincoln, who have preceded him in death.

Mark is survived by his son, Stuart Douglas, Heber City, Utah; daughter, Marci Douglas Woehler (Chris Woehler), Wayne; brother, Michael S. Douglas (Cindy Burke Douglas), Mount Vernon, Iowa; sisters, Barbara D. Douglas Chase (Dean Chase), Tekamah, Christine L. Douglas Strobel (Denis Strobel), Bluffton, South Carolina; nieces, Amy L. Chase Wemhoff (Kevin Wemhoff), Syracuse, Dr. Kari R Strobel Beaufort, South Carolina, and Tiffani Douglas, Mount Vernon; nephew, Michael G. Douglas (Mellisa Friedman Douglas) Dyersville, Iowa. Mark also shared his life with numerous great-nephews and great-nieces.

Mark was well known in the area from the families Douglas Mfg Company to his family friendly JD's Bar & Grill in Crete. He was a fun person to be around, loved a good joke and loved to make jokes, enjoyed meeting people and sharing a beer with friends. Most of all the “loves of his life” were his grandchildren, Hadley Woehler, Cohen Woehler and Kaiser Woehler, with the four of them making wonderful memories together.

After high school, Mark entered the United States Armed Forces, Army Division, serving from May 22, 1969, to May 18, 1972. Upon returning, Mark made Crete his home for the majority of his life.

As we shed our tears from losing you we smile celebrating your life. You will always live in our hearts and memories, rest peacefully.
