Marilynn “Joyce” Morton passed away peacefully on Jan. 18, 2024. She was born March 22, 1935, in Dunning to Albert and Beatrice Miller.

Joyce grew up in Anchorage, Alaska, after her father moved the family in 1945. She graduated from Anchorage High School and returned to Lincoln shortly after graduation. Joyce worked in Lincoln until she met the love of her life, Micheal “Mick” Morton. They married in 1957 and moved to Crete, where she worked for Crete State Bank and Farmland Foods. Joyce was dedicated to her family and work community. Joyce could be found at all sporting, choir and band events for her children and Mick.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Beatrice Miller; and her brothers, Wendyl, Glenn and Steve Miller.

Joyce is survived by her three children, Zane (Karen) Morton of Hermann, Missouri, Todd (Sara) Morton of Eagle, and Julie Steinmeyer of Waverly; and their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at a later date for Joyce and her husband, Mick. Memorial contributions are suggested to The Wounded Warrior Foundation. Arrangements by Lincoln Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
