Lois (Adams) Peterson, 83, of Crete, NE, passed away peacefully on Jan. 9, 2024.

She was born Jan, 26, 1940, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Lois had a passion for music and was accomplished in playing the violin and the Japanese floor harp (Koto). She was a lifelong learner and earned three Master's degrees in Museum Studies, Library Science and Music. Lois shared her love for music and knowledge by working as a librarian at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, East Campus, and later at the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore, where she served as a librarian and archivist.

In addition to her career, Lois enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She cherished moments with her husband, Carrol, her daughter Anne; and her sister, Kay. Lois will be remembered as a kind and loving person by all who knew her. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts.

She is survived by her husband, Carrol Peterson (Crete); daughter, Anne (Alexandria, Virginia); as well as her sister, Kay Adams (Crete). Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Velma and George Adams.
