Franklin Dean Halada was born Oct. 18, 1937, in Wilber. He died April 29, 2023, in Lincoln, at age 85. Frank graduated from Crete High School in 1955 and married Norma Jean Henning in October 1962.

Franklin was raised and lived in the Crete area his entire life. He was raised on a farm and continued to farm east of Crete part-time up until his death. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Franklin taught automotive mechanics and technology at Southeast Community College in Milford for 35 years. He was an avid woodworker, gardener, tree planter and enthusiast and outstanding farm tractor mechanic. He enjoyed visiting with friends and colleagues, traveling and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by parents, Frank and Helen Halada; sister, Patricia Halada Reighard; daughter, Mary Jane Halada; son, David A. Halada and wife Norma Jean Halada

Survivors include son, Robert D. Halada of Lincoln; daughter, Stacia Halada Jorgensen and husband Edan Jorgensen of Lehi, Utah; grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Rebecca Halada of Lincoln and Ezra and Nora Jorgensen of Lehi. An additional survivor includes close personal friend and travel companion, Darlene Zalesky of Wilber.

The funeral service was May 3. Memorial contributions are suggested in care of the family for future designation. Arrangements by Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
