Bryan Josue Odvody-Martinez, age 25 passed away from an accident on April 7, 2024. He was born in Lexington on Feb. 19, 1999, to Juana Martinez Rivas and biological father, Alejandro Landeros.

Bryan spent most of his life growing up in the small town of Wilber, Where he attended Wilber-Clatonia Public Schools, kindergarten through senior year. This is where he found some of his lifelong friends, mentors, people that will forever cherish and honor him. Most of Bryan’s personality, talents and kindness grew from here. Everybody knew Bryan as a goofy, one-of-a-kind, pure-hearted soul. He was always there if you needed a hand, a shoulder to cry on or just a good laugh. He never wanted any bad bones with anyone, was always the star of the show in every room.

His laugh was contagious and his smile never failed to make the room soften up. He found dignity and passion through his sports. Through the trials and tribulations, Bryan always gave it his all and never gave up. On the mat he was a fighter, outside of the mat, he was a lover. As one of his coaches stated, “He was the most gangsta non gangsta person you’d ever meet.”

Bryan did it all. There was nothing you were stopping him from doing that fulfilled his life. A go- getter, live-in-the-moment type of man. He lived his life to the fullest every day. Bryan lived a life worth living. Every day was a good day to him, because he was able to achieve something. Although Bryan was very proud and passionate about his talents and achievements and all the crazy stuff he did in between, there was one thing he put at top and that was his family.

His love and compassion he has for his family and one special little man, his son, Abraham Odvody, is like no other. He was the best daddy to Abraham, they spent a lot of time together doing some of their favorite things, that included frequent visits to the park, wrestling matches and teaching him about all the beautiful things in this life, as Bryan would say “mi vida loca.” Bryan and Abraham enjoyed exploring nature, as well as teaching Abraham about the importance of respect and to always use his manners. There's not a thing in this world that Bryan wouldn’t do for his son.

Bryan has impacted so many lives over the years. His soul will continue to live for infinity. Bryan, you were so loved by many, your legacy will continue to live through us. Until we meet again,  fly high and Rest in Paradise.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carmen Rivas, Jose Martinez and Marvin Odvody. He is survived by his son, Abraham Odvody; his mother, Juana Martinez Rivas; father, Perry Odvody;  siblings, Samantha Odvody-Martinez, Chance Odvody, Vianey Rivas, Alexa Landeros, Aaron Odvody and Krista Odvody; and all the many others that loved him so much.

The funeral service was April 13 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crete. Arrangements by Kuncl Funeral Home in Crete.
