August F. Wendelin, of Hallam, passed away March 24, 2023, at Bryan West Hospital in Lincoln at the age of 98.
He was born Sept. 30, 1924, to John and Sophia Wendelin. He had three siblings. August and his wife, Phyllis, enjoyed farming together, which is what he did all of his life. He also raised cattle and livestock. He especially enjoyed the animals. August and Phyllis enjoyed fishing in their spare time. He took pleasure in cutting wood and gardening.
August is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Becky of Dragoon, Arizona; daughter, Sharon, of Hallam; and nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; brother, George; and sisters, Pauline and Lydia.
The funeral service was March 28 at St. John Lutheran Church in Kramer. Memorial contributions are suggested in care of the family for future designation. Arrangements by Kuncl Funeral Home.
