At their April board of education meetings both the Friend and Exeter-Milligan BOE members will cast their votes to decide if the proposed full academic and sports consolidation of the two school districts will be approved to begin in. A full merger would mean the creation of a brand new school district to be known as Exeter-Milligan-Friend (EMF) and a permanent mascot of the Bobcats, dissolving both current school districts. If the consolidation is approved, it will take effect for the 2025-26 school year.
