Flipping Birdies to Cancer

Terry Petracek, who recently celebrated 50 years with the Crete Fire Department, has positively impacted dozens of local families. In light of his lung cancer diagnosis last October, the community is stepping up and giving back. College Heights Country Club is hosting a golf tournament, “Flipping Birdies to Cancer,” on May 11 and all proceeds are going toward a donation to The Angel Fund in Petracek’s name. The Angel Fund, through Cancer Partners of Nebraska, helps cancer patients struggling to pay for necessities such as food, gas and medicine. All spots are filled in the tournament, but donations are still welcome. Check out the Crete News this week to learn more.
