Nestle Purina Petcare pledged a $500 donation toward Youth Homelessness Matters Day, where the Crete News will be sleeping out on 13th and Ivy St. in Crete to advocate for children identified as homeless in the Crete school district. The Public Works Department regrets the inconvenience that will result from the rusty, discolored water. It is necessary to flush the hydrants and mains at intervals to clean them and to check fire hydrant condition. We recommend laundering be postponed until the water has cleared several hours after flushing.
The Crete boys' soccer team defeated seventh seeded Seward 2-0 on April 11 to move on in the Central Conference tournament. The Cardinals will play Lexington tomorrow, April 13.
The Crete girls' soccer team faced Grand Island Northwest and lost 9-0 on April 11.
The Crete track and field team placed well at the Syracuse meet on April 11. The girls' team placed third and the boys' team fifth.
The Exeter-Milligan/Friend and Dorchester track and field teams competed at the Deshler Invite on April 11 and saw the EMF boys' team win the meet. The EMF girls finished sixth, the Dorchester girls finished eighth and the boys finished ninth.
