VILLAGE OF DORCHESTER BOARD OF TRUSTEES SPECIAL MEETING OCTOBER 25, 2024 A Special Meeting of the Village of Dorchester Board of Trustees was held Friday, October 25, 2024, at the Dorchester Village office, and was called to order at 6:00 p.m. Chairperson Miller advised those present of the Open Meetings Act. Answering Roll Call were board members Matt Shaw, Nancy Tellez, Tammie Lang, Nate Hitchins, and chairperson Roger Miller. Also present was Jen Kasl, Clerk- Treasurer. (All motions carried are unanimous “for” unless otherwise noted). Advance notice of the meeting was posted at the Dorchester US Post Office, First State Bank, NE and Village Hall. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss future real estate transactions of the village. Motion by Shaw, seconded by Tellez to go into closed session for the purpose of discussing strategy sessions with respect to collective bargaining, real estate purchases, pending litigation, or litigation which is imminent as evidence by communication of a claim or threat of litigation to or by the public body, for a period of no longer than 15 minutes. Motion carried. Entered closed session at 6:01 pm. Motion by Hitchins, seconded by Shaw to come out of closed session. Motion carried at 6:17 pm. No formal action was taken during closed session. Motion by Shaw, seconded by Hitchins for Clerk Kasl to direct Atty Hoffschneider to negotiate a real estate purchase on behalf of the village. Motion carried. Motion by Miller, seconded by Hitchins to adjourn the meeting.
