This is a synopsis of the Saline County Board of Commissioners’ October 26, 2021, regular meeting proceedings. A complete set of the proceedings along with an approved list of claims is on file in the Board of Commissioners’ Journal, is of public record in the Saline County Clerk’s office and on our website: www.co.saline.ne.us SALINE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS The regular meeting of the Saline County Board of Commissioners was called to order at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, by Chairperson Russ Karpisek. Present were Karpisek, Phil Hardenburger, Marvin A. Kohout, Janet J. Henning and Stephanie A. Krivohlavek Commissioners, County Clerk Anita K. Bartels. County Attorney Tad Eickman was present between court commitments. Notice of said meeting was posted in the County Clerk’s Office, on the Saline County Website, and published in all three county newspapers on October 20, 2021, in compliance with State Statutes; Let the record show that all proceedings are electronically recorded; Karpisek advised those present of the open meetings act at the back of the room; Approved the Agenda as presented; Approved the minutes of the October 12, 2021, regular meeting; Under correspondence heard reports of receiving an inquiry on the status of additional Probation Office space; from the Nebraska Commission on Law Enforcement a notice stating Saline County Jail is in full compliance; from Blue Valley Community Action their October 19th meeting agenda, their August 17th meeting minutes, their 2021 Reports to the Board of Directors and their August-September News Clippings; Under report of officials reports of meetings with the Legislative Conference, NACO Board, Southeast District NACO, NACO zoom meeting with the governor, Saline County Area Transit, and Saline County Aging Services; Commissioners also reported Jefferson County is also using Lutz Group for ARPA funds consulting and contact has been made with Tieman Construction for the parking lot concrete work; Discussed with Allan Zumpfe with the Dorchester Farmers Coop, the request he received to change their address; Discussion was held on the historical markers for the County’s abandoned cemeteries. It was noted the County is in compliance with State Statues 12-807 and 12-810 regarding the care and maintenance of these cemeteries; Approved a county cell phone for the Juvenile Services Aid Program; Approved the Subaward Agreement between the City of Lincoln and Saline County for Aging Partners Area wide Plan funding; Approved the Unite Private Network Addendum for voice and data service; Approved the Maximus Cost Allocation Plan for Child Support Costs; Approved Resolution #2021-074 transferring $250,000.00 from the Inheritance Fund to the General Fund; Approved Resolution #2021-075 transferring $3,100.00 from the Inheritance Fund to the Juvenile Service Aid Program; Received final reimbursement from FEMA and NEMA for the 2019 Flood Project, in the amount of $84,706.27; Heard updates on various ongoing road, bridge, culvert and wind farm projects; Approved the claims as presented; At 11:20 a.m. entered closed session to discuss personnel issues; At 11:53 a.m. exited closed session with no action taken; There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 11:54 a.m. The next regular meeting will be on November 9, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. in the Saline County Commissioners’ Room, Court House, Wilber, NE.
