This is a synopsis of the Saline County Board of Commissioners’ January 18, 2022, regular meeting proceedings. A complete set of the proceedings along with an approved list of claims is on file in the Board of Commissioners’ Journal, is of public record in the Saline County Clerk’s office and on our website: www.co.saline.ne.us SALINE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS The regular meeting of the Saline County Board of Commissioners was called to order at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, by Chairperson Russ Karpisek. Present were Karpisek, Phil Hardenburger, Marvin A. Kohout and Stephanie A. Krivohlavek Commissioners, County Clerk Anita K. Bartels. Deputy County Attorney Steve Reisdorff was present between court commitments. Commissioner Janet J. Henning was absent. Notice of said meeting was posted in the County Clerk’s Office, on the Saline County Website, and published in all three county newspapers on January 12, 2022, in compliance with State Statutes; Let the record show that all proceedings are electronically recorded; Karpisek advised those present of the open meetings act at the back of the room; Approved the agenda as presented; Approved the minutes of the January 4, 2022, regular meeting; Under correspondence, received from the City of Crete, the January 18, 2022, meeting agenda for the Legislative Development Committee and City Council; from the University of Nebraska, the South Central East Nebraska Community Wildfire Protection Plan; from SENDD an agenda for a Special Executive Committee meeting; from Saline County Tourism Advisory Committee, minutes from the January 6, 2022, meeting; the Mid-Year Service Summary from Continuum; from Blue Valley Community Action their January 18, 2022, agenda, November 16, 2021, Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors minutes, the December 16, 2021, Special Meeting of the Board of Directors minutes, the January 2022 Reports to the BVCA Board of Directors and their November 2021-January 2022 News clippings; Under report of officials heard reports of attending a Wellness Committee meeting, and upcoming meetings with the Planning & Zoning Committee, Mutual Aid, NACO Board, NACO Legislative Committee, Saline County Area Transit, Aging Services Board, and a County Board Chairperson meeting in Kearney; Lori Moldenhauer, Aging Services Director presented an update on services, programs and goals; Approved the Tourism Committee recommendations for awarding the 2022 Tourism Grants; Approved the Noxious Weed Annual Report; Approved Resolution #2022-05, two additional Pledged Collateral Securities, CUSIP #3943781BW3, $210,000.00 and CUSIP #4868905J1, $115,000.00; Approved the Treasurer’s Semi-Annual Statement for July 1, 2021, through December 31, 2021; Approved the December 2021 Clerk of the District Court Fees, $34,622.27; Approved the December 2021 County Clerk Fees, $25,347.25; Approved the December 2021 Sheriff Fees, $3,268.88; Approved the Soarin Group Human Resources Agreement, Option B; Discussed a preliminary draft of the Employee Handbook; Discussed the disposal of surplus obsolete computers and office equipment; Appointed the Clerk’s office to facilitate the scheduling of the Courthouse Assembly Room on the 1st floor; Approved Resolution #2022-04 transferring $1,100.00 from the Inheritance Fund to the Juvenile Services Aid Program, to be reimbursed when funds become available; At 11:00 a.m. the Board recessed; At 11:08 a.m. the Board reconvened; Heard reports on various road and tree removal projects; Entered closed session to discuss a burial assistance; Exited closed session with no action taken; Approved Burial Assistance Application BA 2022-01; Approved claims as submitted with the addition of BA 2022-01 in the amount of $1,300.00; At 11:42 a.m. the Board recessed to reconvene at 1:00 p.m. to conduct reviews of appointed officials and supervisors; There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 3:26 p.m. The next regular meeting will be on February 1, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. in the Saline County Commissioners’ Room, Court House, Wilber, NE.
