Tanner Allen Rejcha, age 23, was born Jan. 20, 2000, in Lincoln, to Doug and Lori (Kuhlmann) Rejcha. He passed away unexpectedly in his sleep at his home near Hallam on Nov. 17, 2023. 

Tanner was baptized at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crete. He attended Crete Public Schools, graduating in 2018. During his junior and senior high school years, he was the student manager for the football and basketball teams. He was affectionately known as T-bone to his teammates, coaches, and friends. Following graduation, he worked in food service at Garden Square in Crete for four years and currently at Crete Public Schools for the past year and a half. 

Tanner lived a life of pure joy, bringing happiness to everyone. One of his teachers referred to him as a life giver. He made his community better. Whether delivering meals to an elderly resident or passing out food to the students, he took pride in his work. He always treated others with kindness. Tanner loved parties and family gatherings. Several years ago, he planned a surprise anniversary party for his parents where over 100 people attended. When complimented for his efforts he said, “I always wanted to do something because I love them so much.” Love was the hallmark of Tanner’s life. 

Tanner is survived by his parents, Doug and Lori; his brother, Trevor; his grandmother, Alice Rejcha; aunts and uncles, Jack (Trish) Riesselman, Kathy (Kirk) Blecha, Diane (Dennis) Buss, Samantha (Joe) Dabbs, Deb (Mark) Mazankowski, Donna Rejcha (Mike Renner), Donald (Lisa) Rejcha, and Dawn (Dave) Parks. He is also survived by many other relatives, friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edgar and Blanche Kuhlmann, and Milo Rejcha. 

The funeral services was Nov. 22, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crete with burial at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Hallam Fire and Rescue Department. Arrangements by Kuncl Funeral Home.
