Special Board Meeting Monday, August 3, 2020 7:00 PM Public School Library 506 W. 9th Street Dorchester, NE 68343-0007 Notice of the time and place of the Dorchester Board of Education meeting was published at the Dorchester Public Schools, Farmers Coop, First State Bank and the Village Office. Individual board members received in advance the meeting agenda and meeting materials. Pursuant to Section 84-1412 of the Nebraska Statutes, the public is hereby informed that a current copy of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act is posted in the Board meeting boardroom. Call to Order and Announce Open Meetings Act Verification The meeting was called to order by President Steve Vyhnalek at 7:04 pm. 2. Roll Call 3. Receive Visitors and Announce Open Forum for Public Comment Visitors were Travis and Rebecca Fuller, Rebecca Steuk, Carolyn Pavlish, Shelly Lehr, Brent and Lindsay Zoubek and Jeremy Johnson. 4. Discussion Items 4.1. Discuss plans for reopening school in the fall. Mr. Schrunk reviewed: DRAFT-"Return to School" Plan P.H.S. (Public Health Solutions) "Risk Dial" http://phsneb.org/covid-19-risk-dial-guidance/ P.H.S. "Screening Exclusion and Readmittance" Re-opening Resolution He also reviewed the various websites he used for determining our Return to Learn document. Open discussions were heard from those in attendance. 5. Action Items 5.1. Consider approving 2020-2021 School Re-opening Resolution. Motion to approve 2020-2021 School Re-opening Resolution passed with a motion by Matthew Hansen and a second by Mike Hatfield. Passed 6-0. Mr. Schrunk presented the 2020-2021 School Re-Opening Resolution. A change was made to have "strongly" in bold print for the recommended wearing of masks. "Consultation with Public Health Solutions" was added to the Directive Health Measures Color and Phases portion of the Return to Learn document. 6. Closed Session (as necessary per statute) Closed session was not necessary at this time. 7. Adjourn Motion to adjourn at 9:48pm passed with a motion by Carol Schnell and a second by Matthew Hansen.
