Robert L. Moser, 89, died July 4, 2025, in Lincoln.
Bob was born in Dorchester on Aug. 3, 1935, to Earl and Louise (Dainton) Moser and grew up on a farm near there. He attended White Cloud Country School and Dorchester High School and graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in agricultural engineering.
He served in the U.S. Navy for 21 years, retiring as a commander. After retirement, he worked at TRW in the Washington, D.C., area. Bob married Alice Kaye Newbold of Minden in 1959. In 1996, with the family nest empty, Bob and Kaye retired and had a home built in Mt. Holly Springs, Pennsylvania, where they lived for about 20 years. In 2018, they moved to Lincoln. Bob lived his last year in assisted living, well cared for by staff at The Knolls, Traditions Health Hospice and The Key home health care.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Kaye and two brothers, William and Richard.
He is survived by son, Dan (Shelley) of Lincoln; daughter, Allison Mayo (Kevin) of Woodbridge, Virginia; son, Stuart (Tracey) of Manning, South Carolina; and daughter, Melanie Hersey (Robert) of Jacksonville, Florida; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several cousins and nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at Roper and Sons South Chapel in Lincoln. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family for later designation.
