Robert D. Nicholson was born Oct. 2, 1948, and passed away Jan. 31, 2025, at 76 years of age in Friendswood, Texas, surrounded by family and friends.
He was born in Lincoln to Esther and Robert Merl Nicholson. In 1960, the family moved to Arizona due to his father's health. After graduating from Sunnyslope High School, he was drafted to the army and served two years in Vietnam, earning the Silver Star.
In 1971, he married Susan and they moved back to Lincoln, living there until his retirement in 2013 when they moved to Clatonia. In December 2022, they moved to Friendswood to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren.
His survived by his wife, Susan; daughter, Kerri (Phillip) Setliff, Texas; son, Brian (Nichole) Nicholson, Omaha; brother, Kenneth Nicholson; grandchildren, Ava, Dean, Charlotte; and four beloved fur babies.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Linda Nicholson; and several aunts uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be in Nebraska at a later date.
