Planning is underway for another Cardinal Weekend, starting Friday, May 30.
Activities will begin with a dinner and evening of fun renewing memories from high school days at Ag Hall at Tuxedo Park, starting at 5 p.m. with a cash bar, followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for the evening can be purchased at the Cardinal Welcome Center (930 Main) or online at a cost of $30.
Throughout the day on Saturday, open houses will be held at places that provide memories of Crete from younger days – the library, the school buildings, the Crete Youth Cabin (Scout Cabin), the newly restored Isis Theater and the Benne Museum.
Also on Saturday, a golf scramble is planned at the College Heights Country Club with 24 teams of four members each. Registration for the event will open April 1. Further details can be obtained from Crystal (Vernon) Kent (crystal.kent@creteschools.org) and Brittany (Kozisek) Hajek.
In addition, for information on sponsoring a hole, contact Marilea Thiem at (402) 826-9875. All proceeds from the golf tournament will go to the CPS Foundation.
On Sunday, a pancake feed and gathering will be sponsored by the Class of ’64, at the Crete Youth Cabin, beginning at 10 a.m. Free will contributions go to the cabin.
