Martha L. Harris, 90, of Wilber, died Sunday morning, Dec. 10, 2023, at the Wilber Care Center.
She was born Sept. 11, 1933, near Morrowville, Kansas, and attended Low Center School. On March 2, 1952, she married Harry Harris and they were blessed with four children. Martha and Harry lived in Fairbury and Crete for many years. She was a former member of the Fairbury Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons, David (Diane) Harris of Beatrice, Douglas (Diane) Harris of Crete, and Daniel Harris and fiancé LuAnn Gentry of Crete; daughter, Susan Harris-Scott and husband B.J. of Kissimmee, Florida; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Byrtilla Lichtenberger; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Emma (Hackbarth) Miller; her husband, Harry Harris, who died Dec. 1, 2013; siblings, Annie, Minnie, Hilda, Elda, Luther, Delmer, Gladys, Evelyn and Harold.
The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice. Interment will be at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery of Beatrice. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the family’s choice. The body will lie in state at the funeral home on Thursday from noon – 8 p.m. Arrangements by Fox Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Beatrice.
