It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Marjorie Ann Clarke, at age 94, our loving and devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched, on Dec. 29, 2022. She left us while sleeping peacefully at her residence at the Watermark at East Hills in Southbury, Connecticut.

She was born to the late Merlin and Leone Sack on Nov. 5, 1928, in Alliance. Marjorie graduated from Crete High School in 1946 and attended both the Colorado Women’s College and Denver University, where she graduated in 1950. She married the late Sherman Clarke in 1953, and they lived together in New Hartford, New York, before relocating to Monroe Connecticut and then Southbury.

She was the much-loved mother of four children, Teri Shestak (Larry) of Crete; Barbara Wilkinson of Woodbury, Connecticut; Gregg Clarke (Kathi) of Newberry, Florida; and Sharon Pelletier (Tom) of Woodbury. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Ennis (David) of Virginia Beach, Virginia, along with 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Marjorie was predeceased by her loving husband in 2010; her brother, Frank Sack; and grandson, Jesse Wilkinson.

Marjorie lived a full life as a wonderful mother, homemaker and worker in retail. She loved Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire and spending time there. Most of all, she loved her family and instilled her strong values into her children and grandchildren that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. Marjorie also built several close relationships with her Watermark friends over the time she lived there.

A celebration of Marjorie’s life was Jan. 12. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Lewey Body Dementia Association, St. Jude’s Hospital or the Diabetes Foundation.
