Larry J. Kahle, age 83, of Dorchester, passed away June 28, 2026, in Crete. He was born Dec. 5, 1942, to Adam and Elvia (Friendt) Kahle in Friend.
Larry spent his life farming and trucking. He enjoyed going to and competing in tractor pulls, hunting, watching local races and NASCAR races on TV.
He married Jean Justa in 1972, and helped her raise her two children, Candy and Wes.
He is survived by his wife, Jean; stepchildren, Candy Justa, Wes (Rene) Justa; step-grandson, Joey; sisters, Bonnie George, Carol Smejdir and Janet Smejdir; nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Elvia Kahle; sisters, Eileen Nerud; brothers, Lloyd Kahle and Roger Kahle; brothers-in-law, Jim Nerud, Dorman Smejdir, Vern Smejdir and Ken George; nephews, Todd Smejdir and Ron Kahle; and nieces, Kathy George, and Patty George.
A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, July 18, at 11 a.m. at the Dorchester Community Cemetery, followed by lunch at the Dorchester American Legion.
