Jeffrey M. Tremblay, age 70, of Crete, passed away Dec, 2, 2023, at the VA hospital in Omaha surrounded by family and loved ones.

He was born Oct. 28, 1953, to Ralph and Marjorie (May) Tremblay at New England Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Jeff graduated from Middleborough High School in Massachusetts in 1971. He enlisted in the Air Force in January 1973 and served as a weapons mechanic at Elgin AFB in Florida. He was honorably discharged Jan. 11, 1975. He then moved to Holdrege to be near his family. In 1977, he met Susan Matson, whom he married in 1979 and two children resulted from this union, Christopher and Kimberly. Susan and Jeff remained lifelong friends after they divorced.

Jeff enjoyed spending time with his family doing many activities, including hunting, fishing, camping and bowling. He also enjoyed collecting model trains, stamp collecting and spending time playing Tomb Raider and World of Warcraft on his PC.

In 1992, Jeff earned an Associate of Applied Science in Electronics Technology from Central Community College in Hastings. Shortly after, he was hired to work as a mechanic at the Alpo factory, and moved to Crete. He worked at the factory through many changes. He remained through each ownership and production change until he retired in 2021. After retiring, Jeff enjoyed spending time with family and caring for his rescue kitties.

He is survived by his children, Christopher A. Tremblay and significant other Kimberly Schnitzer of Bellevue, Kimberly M. Scott (Tremblay) of Milford; six grandchildren, Alexzandra, Abagail, Dominick, Cierra, Savannah and Nathaniel; sisters, Heather (David) Marolf of Manchester, Iowa, and Bonnie (Hunter) Chartier of Beaver, Wisconsin; brothers, Duncan of Formoso, Kansas, and Murdoch of Park City, Kansas; lifelong friend, Susan Williams (Matson) of Holdrege, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Marjorie (May) Tremblay; and his brother, Bruce. Jeff will be deeply missed, but remembered with great love and affection.

A memorial service was Jan. 6. Arrangements by Kuncl Funeral Home.
