Darrell Eugene Boston, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2026.

Known for his nickname as "Easy Money," he was born in Table Rock on Jan. 19, 1938. A dedicated, loyal and reliable man, he made his mark not only in the automotive world, but also in the hearts of those who knew him. His life was a testament to his passion for racing, a hobby that brought him great joy. His love for watching Gunsmoke and enjoying his favorite desserts were some of the simple pleasures.

Darrell was a self-made man, starting his journey in the automotive industry and eventually becoming a master mechanic. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to become a 17-year Kawasaki franchise dealer and later the proud owner and operator of Crete Auto Service for 25 inspiring years. In 1994, he powered his son, Mike, to become the national 600 multi micro class champion, while he was named National Mechanic of The Year in the NMMA. Despite his busy schedule, Darrell found time to join the Sundowner Cycle Club alongside his beloved wife, sharing their middle-aged years in the spirit of camaraderie and adventure.

Darrell is survived by his daughter, Gail (Mark) Mussman; son, Mike Boston; granddaughters, Lindsay Hardenburger and Shelby (Hunter Weber) Boston; grandsons, Justin (Sandra) Waller and Jordan (Brittany Hubbard) Boston; great-granddaughters, Wrigley, Lennon Hardenburger and Nova Waller; great-grandson, Cooper Hardenburger; and brothers, Rich and H. Earl Boston.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Deanna Boston; parents, Bud and Evelyn Boston; and sisters-in-law, Norma (Fred) Beekman and Judy Stone.

A memorial service for Darrell will be Thursday, April 16, at 11 a.m. at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 5200 R St., Lincoln. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date.

As we remember Darrell, we celebrate his life, his accomplishments, and the memories he has left behind. We encourage friends and family to share their stories, photos, and memories of Darrell on his memorial page. Let us cherish these memories and keep his spirit alive in our hearts.
