Charles Robert Brown, 72, husband of Phyllis Brown, DeWitt, passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2022, in Beatrice. He was born Dec. 15, 1949, in Bloomfield, to Robert and Lucille Brown.
Charlie attended Crete schools, graduating in 1968. After high school, he attended Southeast Community College in Milford for heating and air-conditioning and worked at the family-owned business, Propane Service, for many years. He moved to Texas in the early1990s, returning to Nebraska in 2018.
He was preceded in death by parents and sister, Gail August. Survivors include wife, Phyllis Brown; daughter and son-in-law, Gina and Dan Timmerman; son and daughter-in-law, Trent and Jessica Brown; brothers, Lyle (Diane) Brown and Kenneth (Sarah) Brown; and brother-in-law, Gary August; grandchildren, Cody, Logan, Shelby and Sierra Timmerman, Saige and T.J. Brown; and step-sons, Scott (Sara) Wood and Mike (Debra) Wood. Other survivors include great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and grandnieces, other relatives and friends.
An extended family-only graveside service will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in DeWitt.
