Betty Rae Kovar passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Born on Jan. 4, 1938, to Samuel A. and Ethel Marie Springer, Betty, touched the lives of all who knew her with her kindness. 

She married Donald D. Kovar on Sept. 20, 1959, and raised two loving children on the family farm in Wilber. She was dedicated to her children and grandchildren in all aspects of their lives. 

She was a graduate of class of 1956 of Wilber High School and went on to work at KFOR in Lincoln. After marrying Don, she stayed at home to raise her family and then later started her career at the Saline County USDA office, where she retired after 14 ½ years of service. Betty was an active member of the Wilber United Methodist Church, PEO and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Ethel Springer; sisters, Golden Springer and Doris Boatman; and brothers, Roy, Dave and Ray Springer. 

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Donald Kovar; children, Russ and wife Donna Kovar, Kim and husband Joe Anderson; grandchildren, Nick and wife Breanna Kovar, Brandon Kovar and fiancé Kaitlyn Buresh, Tanner, Foster and Carter Zlab, Grant and Elise Anderson, Josh Garrens and fiancé Valerie Kepler; and brother, Bob Springer.
