Betty Jane Yant, born Jan. 21, 1948, in Munich, Germany.

She was raised in Wilber and passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Her death was the result of pulmonary and cardiac complications. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Eddie and Inez (Shimerda) Broz.

Betty married Rudolph A. Homolka in 1966, and together, three children were born. In 1987, she married Roger Yant, and they continued to grow their loving family with three more children.

In her younger years, Betty was active on the farm and enjoyed participating in bowling and golf leagues. In her later years, she found joy in puzzles, card games, watching sports – especially her beloved Huskers and Chiefs – and people watching at the mall. She never passed up an opportunity to attend a grandchild’s event.

Betty’s life was full of love, laughter, and resilience. She will be remembered for her strong will, sharp wit, and deep devotion to her family.

She is survived by her husband, Roger and children: Mitchell Homolka (Tammy), Karie Etter (Jeff), Eric Homolka (Tiffany), Seth Yant (Lori), Roger Yant, Jr., (Kelly), and Ananda Kyle (Kenny). Betty was a proud and devoted grandmother to Colton and Calen Homolka, Kyle and Braden Dey, Zach (Amy) and Caleb Homolka, Sawyer Yant, Cotter and Bellamy Yant, Bryson Kniss (Sam), and Grier and Cooper Kyle. She also cherished her great-grandchildren, Waylon Dey and Maeve Kniss.

Betty is also survived by her sisters, Barb Bruce (Tom) and Kathy Kinney (Bill), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her warmth and spirited personality.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted in September at a location to be announced.
