Arlen Leonard Stahl of Crete, passed away peacefully in Lincoln on Feb. 13, 2026.
Arlen was born Sept. 25, 1939, in Ainsworth, to Alfred and Alice (Hansen) Stahl and grew up in Hastings. He married Janis Wells on Dec. 3, 1961, and to this union, three sons were born: Andrew Scott, Cary and Steven. He moved his family to Wilber in 1975, where he joined the Saline County Sheriff’s Department, from which he retired in 2015.
Arlen enjoyed going to flea markets and finding “good deals,” watching Gunsmoke and the Huskers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janis; and son, Andrew Scott.
Survivors include special friend Jean Stinson; sons, Cary (Machel) and Steve; grandsons, Dylan, Derek (Megan), Jayden, and Zane; granddaughter, Syarah; and great-granddaughters, Ensley and Bjorn.
A graveside service was Feb. 20 at the Wilber Czech Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested in care of the family for future designation in lieu of flowers.
