Shirley Ann (Adams) Kraus passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born June 24, 1953, in Nebraska City to Clyde Dean and Vera Elva “Toots” Adams. She grew up on a farm outside of Peru. She attended Peru Prep school until freshman year and then went on to continue and graduate from Auburn High School. Soon after graduation, she married David Kraus. They had three kids together, daughters Dena and Kari, and son, Greg. She worked at Crete Hospital for 25 years, first in the cafeteria and then as an x-ray technician. She continued her career at St. Elizabeth as a certified surgical technician in labor and delivery. She was there for 17 years before her retirement.

Shirley is survived by her husband David of Denton; daughter, Dena (Jared) Patterson of Lincoln; son Greg (Jill) Kraus of Crete; daughter Kari Kraus of Lincoln; seven grandchildren; sibling, Jerry Adams of Auburn and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; brother, Larry Adams; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Kraus.
