Roger Bruce Martin was born June 21, 1952, in Omaha, to Jack and Donna (Crites) Martin.
He graduated from Crete High School in 1971 and joined the army in 1972. He remained an active advocate for veterans until his death from a short battle with cancer.

Roger is survived by his wife, Lori; daughter, Lara of Lakeside Village, Texas; sons, Justin and wife Olivia of Argyle, Texas, Jason and wife Staci of Maricopa, Arizona, Kenyon of the Philippines, Nick and wife Lisa of Reno, Nevada, and Matt and wife Geralyn of the Philippines; granddaughters, Madeline, Caleigh and Arianna; grandsons, Gavin, Victor and Bryson; great-grandson, Jace; great-granddaughter, Trinity; sister, Janna and husband Doyle of Lincoln; half-brother, Jeff of San Jose California; nieces, Chrissy and husband Bryan, Brendi and her husband Tony; great-nieces, Nikki and Ella and Morgan; great-nephews, Nathaniel and Paxton and several cousins.
A memorial service will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, July 9, at Forest Lawn Cemetery Chapel in Omaha. Memorial contributions are suggested to Roger's childhood church, Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church in Crete.
