LaVon Van Vors, Crete, age 78, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2021, surrounded by family and friends.
She was the second child born to Rosella (Hensley) and Walter Van Vors on Nov. 25, 1942, in Dubuque, Iowa. Walter was killed in battle in World War II. LaVon loved her family and many friends. She had a love for animals, especially her Dachshund, Kia. She enjoyed crafting, gardening, quilting, painting and an occasional casino trip.
LaVon was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ron Van Vors; and sister, Paula Rech. She is survived by her brother, Denny Berg; sons, Joe (Justine) and Leeland (Mary); daughters, Lynn, Lora (Bill) and Lisa (Frank); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life, food and party is scheduled at the Millard V.F.W. Post #8334, 5083 S. 136th St., Omaha, on Saturday, May 15, at 2 p.m. Inurnment will be in the Brewster Cemetery at a later date. Condolences may be left for the family at trumpmemorials.com.
