Harlan Wayne Rowe entered into his eternal rest on Saturday,  Dec. 17, 2022. He was born Feb. 7, 1951, in Preston, Minnesota, to Alvin and Dorothy (Freiheit) Rowe.

Harlan grew up as an inquisitive young boy, looking into how things worked and why they did what they did. The arts, both culturally and creating through drawing, painting and molding played a big part of making Harlan who he was.

Life began for Harlan on a farm, near Preston, Minnesota. Throughout his life, Harlan lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Central City and Crete, Denver, Colorado, and San Francisco, California.

Graduating from Crete High School, he continued on with his college education at Wayne State College, in Wayne, where he graduated with a BS Degree in the Arts and Science.

Employment began at Luschingers Bakery in Crete during Harlan's high school years. Other employment included a floral shop, computer programming and office duties. He retired from Clymer Direct Publising House.

Survivors include his beloved fur baby, Tucker; his partner, Michael "Douglas" Bradish, of San Francisco; mother, Dorothy Rowe of Crete; sisters, Bev (Marvin) Sasek of Wilber and Teresa (the late Wayne) Hunt of Denton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding Harlan in death were his father, Alvin Rowe; grandparents, Walter and Leona Freiheit, Peter and Amanda Rowe; brothers-in-law, R. D. Warne and Wayne Hunt.

There will be a remembrance gathering at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall in Crete.
