Daniel Patrick Murphy, 69, of Crete passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Tabitha in Crete. He was born in Lincoln on Feb. 3, 1952, to Wayne and Elizabeth Murphy.
Dan was a graduate of Lincoln Southeast High School. Dan worked for NPPD for 47 years. During his employment there, he held many positions and had recently retired in 2020. Dan was a loving husband, wonderful father and family was his everything. Most people that knew Dan knew him as a man of few words but a great sense of humor and was often described as a gentle giant.
He is survived by his wife, Kayleen; sons, Sean Murphy (Ashley) of Lincoln, Scott Murphy (Jacque) of North Platte; brother, Tom Murphy (Paulette) of Lincoln; sister, Mary Abel (Jim) of Lincoln, and countless other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Elizabeth (Betty) Murphy.
