Carol Jean (Divoky) Renken, 86, of Lincoln, died May 4, 2021. She was born July 22, 1934, in Saline County on the same farm where her father was born.
Tom and Marie Divoky welcomed their only child on a hot, record setting, 113-degree day. She attended country school, Wilber High and Doane College, where she met the love of her life, Lowell Renken. They married June 3, 1955, spending the next 62 years together. Carol enjoyed having The Country Mouse handmade shop for many years, gardening and antiquing. She loved animals, especially her kitties and always put family first.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Lowell. She is survived by their two children, Tammy (Rob) Adams and Mark (Becky) Renken, both of Lincoln; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Alberta Renken, Betty Renken, Elaine Keller and Lucille Liebner.
A funeral service was Monday with burial at Lincoln Memorial Park. Memorial contributions are suggested to any animal welfare organization. Condolences may be left for the family at www.bmlfh.com.
