Angeline Marilyn Highstreet, 95, of Crete, passed away July 31, 2021, at Tabitha in Crete.

Angie was born Sept. 10, 1925, on a farm near Irene, South Dakota, to Lauritz and Mary Madsen. She graduated from Wakonda High School and attended business school at the University of South Dakota. Angie moved to Sioux Falls and worked for the John Morrell Company. While living there, she met and married Odello Highstreet and was married for 39 years. They moved to a farm in the Sioux Falls area and had two children. In 1961, the family moved to Lincoln and opened the Sparkle Uniform Shop on Ninth and O streets. After many years downtown, the business was relocated to Gateway Mall. In 1991, Angie retired and moved to her lake house near Crete, and made that her home for 30 years. Angie loved the small town and made wonderful friends. She was a passionate card player, and knew where every pinochle or pitch game was happening. Angie was fortunate to travel to every state in the United States, to Europe several times and many cruises with friends and family.

Angie is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brothers, Leon Madsen and Millage Madsen. Among those who shared her life and cherish her memory are her two children, Jack (Barbara) Highstreet of Lincoln and JoAnn Highstreet Huffman of Raleigh, North Carolina; granddaughters, Jenifer Highstreet, Andrea (Josh) Rockemann, Lauren (Adam) Lefler; and great-grandsons Benson Rockemann and Carson Lefler.
