Alice Naffziger

Alice (Brong) Naffziger, 86, of Callaway, formerly of Crete, passed away Dec. 20, 2020. Alice was born Dec. 19, 1934, to Robert and Bernece (Whiteman) Brong in Seward.

After graduating from Seward High School in 1953, she went on to study teaching at the University of Nebraska. She married Harold Naffziger on June 5, 1958, in York. They made their home in Beatrice for a few years before moving to Crete. She later moved to Callaway to be closer to family. Alice taught elementary school in Thedford and Virginia, Nebraska. She then worked as a stay-at-home mom until all of her children were in high school. She then went to work various jobs and found her career as an interlibrary loan coordinator at the Crete Public Library. Alice enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, mini mysteries, collecting ceramic dogs and spending time at auctions.

Alice is survived by her children, Kevin Naffziger of Crete, Brian Naffziger of Springfield, Arlen (Marcy) Naffziger of Tullahoma, Tennessee, Sheila (Darin) Ellis of Callaway; her grandchildren, Justin Naffziger, Nolan Naffziger, Delaney Naffziger, Conner Naffziger, Bethany Naffziger, Danielle (Mitchel) Magrini, Zane (Sydney) Ellis, Kaden (Andrea) Ellis. Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Harold and brother, Ed.

A graveside service was Jan. 2 at Riverside Cemetery in Crete. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Callaway Good Life Center. Condolences may be left for the family at www.kunclfh.com.
